Bowling

Description of CCA

Our Bowling team is a young but dynamic one. It was formed in January 2012 with an intake of only 21 pupils, mainly Primary 4 & 5 pupils.  Since then, our intake of pupils has steadily increased peaking at 31. To date, our bowling team comprises of pupils from Primary 6 to our youngest member who is in Primary 3.

Through our CCA, pupils will be introduced to the basic bowling skills such as footwork, stance mechanics, finishing position, swings as well as ball selection and scoring. We have engaged an external coach to provide the training.

Apart from learning the basic skills, we also work towards cultivating respect for the game and players in our pupils through displaying appropriate etiquette & attitude to perform well in the sport.

Pupils not only learn to embrace a resilient and persevering attitude in picking up the skills individually but also collaboratively as a team.

There are also opportunities for pupils to develop their leadership qualities. In short, bowling aims to develop our pupils mentally and physically in a fun environment.

Achievements

14th National Primary Schools TenPin Bowling Championships 2015

Singapore Primary Schools Sports Council (SPSSC)
For many of our two Junior teams, it was the first time they were competing in the competition. It was good exposure for them and they did their very best.

Julitta Jannanii Joshua (6 Joy) came in 5th position in the Senior Division Girls All Events category. It was certainly a feat. She not only qualified for the Masters Event, which was held on the 11 July, but was able to clinch the 10th position.
