SPARK (Sports for Active and Resilient Kids)
Sports for Active and Resilient Kids (SPARK) aims to provide meaningful and authentic contexts where knowledge can be applied and values and 21st century competencies can be demonstrated and strengthened through Sports and sporting activities.
The main objectives of SPARK are:
Acquire competencies in a variety of sports
Exhibit leadership qualities, be anchored in school values and be resilient in the face of challenges
The signature feature of SPARK LLP is level cohorts of students participating in a series of camp and challenges from P4 to P6. Known as the P4 GRACIA EXPLORER, the P5 GRACIA LEADER and the P6 GRACIA STAR CHALLENGE, these level camps support the development of the school values, 21CC, SE competencies and complements the OE component of the PE curriculum.
Through these camps and challenges, students are introduced to sports such as Dragon Boating, Inline Skating and Rock Climbing and encouraged to stay physically active and healthy. Through participating in these challenges and being guided to think through and reflect on their emotions, the girls are provided with opportunities to learn and demonstrate character and values e.g. to develop can-do attitudes to meet challenges presented.
